Targeted at 11th grade marketing students,
Marketing Principles is a yearlong course that focuses on content in the
Business Administration Core and Marketing Cluster Core at the
career-sustaining level. It introduces students to dynamic
processes and activities in marketing and their impact on business operations,
with special emphasis placed on the marketing functions of selling, channel
management, market planning, and promotion. The course also develops student
understanding and skills in customer relations, communication skills, and
workplace safety and security. Marketing Principles features a variety of
activities, ethical cases, assessments, and resource lists, including specific
recommendations for LAP modules and commercial publications. Two 100-item
semester exams are included, and three hands-on, standards-based projects are
provided to appeal to a variety of learning styles. (NOTE: Prior knowledge of
and experience with introductory business/marketing
concepts and skills is strongly recommended as a prerequisite to Marketing
Principles.
